KB10488 - The CGM symbol that I created using CorelDRAW seems to be left-bottom oriented in my DK application. How can I properly center it?
The offset reflects a mistake in CorelDraw in how it creates CGM symbols. TatukGIS offers a CGM Center utility (SKU1052-458) utility to correct the offset of CGM symbols produced by CorelDraw. This utility can be downloaded from www.tatukgis.com/downlad. By using this utility you will be able to automatically create a name.cgm.ini file that will fix the CGM symbol positioning for TatukGIS software purposes.
This utility works with the DK v. 8 and subsequent releases.
The CGM symbol rotation mistake, however, was fixed in CorelDraw version 12. If using CGM symbols created with CorelDraw 12, you will likely find that the TatukGIS CGM Center utility is no longer required.
When using CorelDraw to create CGM symbols for use in TatukGIS products, we suggest using only basic shapes because the TatukGIS CGM implementation supports only RECTANGLE, RECT, POLYGON, LINE, CIRCLE, ARCCTR, ELLIPSE and ELLIPARC. If you are unsure about the shapes involved, just export the CGM to text format which will provide the CGM in clear text format. This will permit you to view and even edit the symbol using a normal text editor.
