TatukGIS DK-VCL IntraWeb Component
The Developer Kernel IntraWeb Component provides Delphi and C++Builder developers with an easy but very powerful method to create GIS web server solutions or to port existing DK-VCL applications to a web server environment, with support for the popular IntraWeb web development environment from Atozed Software.
The combination of the DK-VCL + IntraWeb offers several advantages when moving a DK-VCL solution to a web server environment:
- No technology switch; continue using your beloved Borland development tools
- Only a minimum of changes needed to your DK-VCL application core source code
- True WYSWIG development
- Very fast development path
- Reliable, fast, and easy to deploy
- The end product as a single executable, meaning greater security and simplified off-the-shelf deployment
- A user feel that is similar to a PC application
- Very sophisticated Web-GIS development possibilities
The DK-VCL+IntraWeb Component (with Delphi source code) is packaged with the DK-VCL (source code) retail version, although it does not install by default. Any DK-VCL (source code version) licensed developer may use the DK-IntraWeb Component for evaluation purposes. As required by the TatukGIS license agreement, the use of the DK for the creation of any server based solution, including one based on the IntraWeb support, requires the payment of a DK Server Deployment Royalty per each server.
The IntraWeb product was the winner of the Best Web Development Tool category of Delphi Informant Magazine Readers Choice Awards in both 2002 and 2003, tallying 62% of total votes cast in 2003. An IntraWeb license is bundled with Delphi 7. DK-VCL developers using C++Builder can purchase an IntraWeb license separately from Atozed Software.
