Migrating Existing GIS Projects to TatukGIS

Migrate ArcView v. 3 and MapInfo projects to TatukGIS

Any TatukGIS product (even the free TatukGIS Viewer) can directly open ESRI ArcView 3 and MapInfo Professional projects. This means that TatukGIS products read the MapInfo *.wor project (workspace) file and the ArcView 3 *.apr project file. The TatukGIS product can save the open project as a TatukGIS project (with a  *.ttkgp project file).

TatukGIS products directly open the MapInfo *.tab and *.mid/*.mif and ESRI *.shp format vector layers.

Migrate ArcGIS projects to TatukGIS

Arc2TatukGIS is an ESRI ArcGIS/ArcMap plug-in designed to export GIS projects to TatukGIS software products. ArcGIS users can download and use this plug-in which will install within an ArcGIS environment. The exported TatukGIS project can be opened and used in any product supporting the TatukGIS project file, e.g., the free TatukGIS Viewer, TatukGIS Editor, TatukGIS Internet Server, and any custom application developed using the TatukGIS Developer Kernel (SDK). Arc2TatukGIS is compatible with ArcGIS versions 9.0 and higher.

Arc2TatuGIS performs the following:

If the original ArcGIS project contains ESRI Personal Geodatabase or ArcSDE layers, each exported SHP file layer in the TatukGIS project can be replaced with the original Personal Geodatabase or ArcSDE layer by manually manipulating the TatukGIS *.ttkgp project file.  All TatukGIS products support map layers in the Personal Geodatabase format and all TatukGIS products except the free Viewer support ArcSDE layers.

As a free product, Arc2TatukGIS it is not supported. Refer to the provided help material for guidance on the use of the product. Users are welcome to submit comments or suggestions for improvement to support@tatukgis.com.
