This sample illustrates the use of various techniques for filtering frequencies of
light to reveal greater contrast and detail, or to make easier the search for certain
types of physical features in aerial photography. Notice how the histogram enhanced view allows
the user to better see below the surface of the sea and to more easily see the relief
of the terrain in the forested areas. All views presented in this sample are calculated
"on-the-fly", with no predefined views. The image is a TIFF file that is nearly 300
MB in size.
Buy filtering though only certain frequencies of light, tools such as this can be
customized to help search for specific types of vegetation, or to accentuate the changes
in vegetation or new construction activity when comparing two aerial photos of the
same area taken at different times.
