Customer Testimonials & Success Stories Success Story - Environmental Site Model Studio by EJLSKOV A/S using DK for Delphi July 21, 2025 Environmental Site Model Studio (ESM) is an expert level application dedicated to modeling and visualizing environmental data, in particular remediation sites involving soil contamination from hydrocarbons or chlorinated solvents. Project managers and modelers use the software over the entire time span of environmental projects, from proposals over data collection, data modeling, client communication, remedial design, and remedial field work, to monitoring and reporting. Many common data formats used in the environmental industry are supported directly, as well as local and online background GIS and terrain data. Commonly described as a 3D GIS application focused on environmental data, ESM is one of the most powerful software tools currently available within the environmental industry when it comes to real-time visualization of contaminated distribution and quantification analysis. ESM main user interface - fully optimized for 4K, high-resolution (high-DPI) monitors. In ESM there are three independent visualization environments: 2D GIS, 3D scenes, and 2D vertical cross sections. A user can create multiple visualizations of each environment. The 2D map environment and the map manager are based on the TatukGIS Developer Kernel (for Delphi edition) map viewer and legend control. 3D scenes and 2D cross sections are not based on TatukGIS controls but still use TatukGIS classes to access GIS data sources. All three visualization managers have the same look and feel. Thanks to the recent addition of layer icons in the TatukGIS Developer Kernel (DK), all visualization managers now also show a data type icon for each layer or object. Considering that maps commonly contain 50+ layers, the icons make overviewing the data a lot easier. In the main user interface (see image above), the Data Object Manager occupying the lower left portion links to all data used in the project. Data objects are simply dragged from the Data Object Manager onto visualization windows. All visualizations feed from the same data sources, so updating a data source automatically updates all visualizations using that data source. ESM supports all common data types used in the environmental remediation industry: lithologic data, direct push-probe data (MIP, HPT, MiHPT, LIF), soil and groundwater concentration data, terrain, and groundwater elevation data. Thanks to the DK, many types of local and online GIS and terrain data are supported as well. Remedial design work in desktop mode in the office. Key features in the ESM application enable creating high-resolution contamination models and using the models to design an in-situ remediation plan. With in-situ remediation, a product designed to induce either chemical or biologic degradation is injected directly into the contamination plume to remove contamination without moving the soil. In-situ injection mode on a rugged field tablet using a touch screen. Modeling and remedial design is conducted in the office. Field work is done in all kinds of weather with the field operator using the exact same software in field mode on a rugged tablet with touch screen. In field mode, the DK based map shows both the planned values and actual product amounts.
