Developer Kernel 11 for Delphi Available to Developer Kernel VCL Licensed Developers

The Developer Kernel 11 development is approaching the final stage. Effective today, we announce the general availability of the Early Access Program of DK11 for Delphi.

• All licensed users get rights to write and distribute VCL and FMX desktop applications (for Win32, Win64, and OS X).
• Downloads are available at My Products.
• Development for mobile devices (running iOS, Android) requires purchase of an add-on license.
• As the name suggests, there is still some work to be done before the final release (with trial versions), but the current product is sufficiently stable to develop with, plan migration paths, and even to release DK11 for Delphi developed final products.
• Documentation is available at http://docs.tatukgis.com/DK11 and includes for the API, What's New, Sample Descriptions, and Migration Guide. (All content is being updated on a daily basis.)
• Migrating is easy but requires some minor code changes, especially in the uses section. For reference, TatukGIS was able to migrate the entirety of its desktop GIS Editor product (which will soon be available as an EDT5) to the DK11 in less than a day.
• Product versions are available as separate downloads for each compiler version. The platform availability matrix is:

• We do have no plans to support FMX on any pre-XE7 release version. Also please note that support for XE2 will be discontinued this autumn.
• We will continue to maintain DK10 for a while (for 3 months after reaching DK11 final release milestone).  So there is no hurry, but is good to plan a migration path to DK11. In the meanwhile, the DK10 was just updated with support for RAD Studio 10.1 Berlin.
