A small experiment with FmxLinux

As most Delphi developers already know, RAD Studio 10.2 Tokyo brings support for Linux. But the support is limited only to non-GUI applications. In the meanwhile, an independent company has developed full FMX support for Linux. See more at: www.fmxlinux.com.

We could not resist testing FmxLinux with our Developer Kernel for Delphi edition. After few hours of work, we got:

FmxLinux.jpg

Yes, that is our test application running on Linux (Ubuntu Parallels VM on Mac). Of course it is not close to a full port, and we still make no commitment to supporting Linux on Delphi. But, so far, it looks very, very promising. We keep our eyes open!

What do you think about this?

I have never seen a GIS application supporting so many operating systems and devices. Well done! Your support will need to expand to fully support all tjese operatimg systems. One thing is for sure: if ypu select TatukGIS as your GIS development platform you may expect the most platform compatible GIS there is.
