KB10823 - Software activation issues.

If experiencing a problem activating a TatukGIS software product, ensure the following:

Activation refusal

  1. The software is installed only on the number of computers allowed by the license.
  2. The software is the official TatukGIS version downloaded via your user account directly from the TatukGIS web site (so not copied from another computer, etc.)
  3. The proper activation serial number is used. The activation serial number for a given product version is sent to the registered licensed user by e-mail each time the retail version is downloaded. Be sure to safe-list @tatukgis.com e-mail addresses!
  4. Both the product download and the activation is performed via the same licensed user log-in account (to which the license is registered in the TatukGIS system).
  5. If requested, a valid hardware ID number is provided. (The default, on-line activation procedure does not require the user to manually provide the hardware ID number.)

In any other case, contact support@tatukgis.com with a detailed description of the problem. Include:

  • the name and version of the product
  • the activation serial number you are using
  • a screen shot image of the problem, if helpful

Specific situations:

  1. If the program is nagging for activation over and over, ensure that you are not using any kind of registry wiping/restoring software which can remove activation information stored in the registry. If using any such software program, set the program to not alter the directory: HKCU\Software\TatukGIS
  2. If the activation becomes invalid after updating the hardware, send an e-mail to support@tatukgis.com with a detailed description of the problem and:
    • the name and version number of the product
    • the activation serial number that you are using
    • a screen shot image of problem, if helpful
  3. If it seems the product just forgot the activation, report this as a bug to support@tatukgis.com with a detailed description of the problem and:
    • the name and version number of the product
    • the activation serial number you are using
    • a screen shot image of the problem, if helpful
