Q&A - Question DK11 - TGIS_SpinEdit Component Question HalB asked on January 08, 2018, keyword: Developer Kernel Hi, I am migrating to TatukGIS_DK.Delphi.RX10.2_11.12.0.13733 under Windows 10. In DK10 there is a TGIS_SpinEdit component on the TatukGIS pallette. This visual component is no longer available on the DK11 pallette. In DK11, I have found the VCL.GISControlVarious unit and it does include the TGIS_SpinEdit class. I have this unit in my Uses clause. The code in the .PAS file does not indicate any error, but the form (.DFM) does not find or recognize TGIS_SpinEdit class, thus cannot be displayed or compiled. I have used this handy component quite a bit in my applications. Is there a way to continue using this component or do I need to use another SpinEdit component? Regards, Hal Answers Tomasz Kosinski (TatukGIS) replied January 08, 2018 It was never an official component but rather control that we created for legend properties form purposes. We will stop using our internal version of spin control in next coming weeks. TGIS_SpinEdit is a runtime control only. The main reason for discontinuation is that spin edit is not touchscreen friendly. Also, we want to provide components only directly GIS related. Please use any spin control alternative. HalB replied January 08, 2018 Understood. Thanks for the reply Tomasz.
